Our new meeting place....at least for now!

Hello everyone!

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Jenn and if you've been at the gym the same time as me, I am the girl who wears the wacky knee high socks...I am new to Crossfit as of February 1st and have REALLY been enjoying myself.  Working out is obviously difficult and challenging, but once I got in the routine of showing up regularly and doing the workouts I found myself being even more challenged by my diet and what/when to eat.  Lisa invited me to join the Tuesday night "food" group and what a huge help you ladies were!  Thank you!  I've been "eating Paleo" with a few cheats here and there and feeling better than I ever have before.  It is an ongoing process of "fine-tuning" food, timing, quantity, etc. but I know it's worth it.

Changing gears now...Lisa touched base with some of you and suggested we take a break from the Tuesday night meetings...with busy schedules and summer (hopefully) lurking around the corner, we thought maybe a blog could help us all keep in touch, share recipes, voice concerns/questions, etc. and that we could meet every couple of weeks or once a month and do some sort of activity related meeting (hike, bike, walk, dirty dash, etc.).

With all of that said....this will be a private blog...meaning that you have to be invited to join (it's free obviously) and no one outside of our group will be able to see our stuff.  There will be a place to leave a comment after each post I make and hopefully we can chat back and forth.  I know this will take some tweaking till we get it right, but I have faith that it will work!  I can easily make a post about changes, new ideas and would be happy to post articles, attach websites and include whatever else may be of interest to you all.  This isn't "MY" blog it's "OUR" blog...it's meant to be helpful and fun, not extra work. 

That being said, let's get started!

I love it! Nice work girly. Thanks for setting this up. Well, I am on day 4 of my "Eat real food/Zone" program. It's basically Paleo with a little more structure. It's going good so far, the foods haven't really changed, just the percentages. Having a hard time coming up with veggie dishes though, I have to eat sooo many veggies!

Great job Jenn!! Thanks for the time and effort. I have not been doing well ever since our STNS challenge was completed. I feel like I have more cheat days/meals than Paleo ones. It has a bit to do w/ company in town for almost two weeks, a wedding and just overall feeling a bit burnt out in all areas of my life. I hope to get back on track. I love the support at CFB!!!!

Lisa: How is the Zone program working out? How do you feel? Have you come up with more veggie ideas?

Jodi: What would help you have more Paleo days than cheat days? A new goal maybe? I agree that when life is pulling you in a thousand different directions, it is so easy to get burnt out, throw your hands up and stop doing the things that are good for YOU. Why do we sacrifice ourselves first? Maybe it's a woman thing...we are a cursed bunch at times aren't we? Let's help each other fill up our empty cups of motivation...

I'll wait another day or two to make another blog post...just to give a few more people a chance to check out the site...then I think we should share some recipes/food ideas...till then...

Yeah, I really am feeling pushed and pulled in too many directions. Like this week for example: I can't get to CF til Thurs noon class. That makes me frustrated and annoyed. I want to control my schedule, not have my schedule control me. It's work and then also my family and I are going to volunteer at Special Olympics so that is fun and important. Ok. Well. Good to hear from ya!!!

Tuesday, Tuesday!!! How is everyone? I love that it is sunny out. I am pretty sore from yesterday (that's what I get for taking a week off). How is everyone else doing?
